Product Overview

What makes the Chevron Core different?

The Chevron Core is a next-generation EPP structure. Instead of a solid foam block, the core is machined with a repeating V-shaped (chevron) cutout pattern from the surface side. The ribs left between the cutouts act as engineered flex hinges, letting the face store and release energy in a more predictable way while keeping the weight in check.

The outer edge is fully wrapped with an EVA foam perimeter wall—the same edge technology used in Gen 3/4/5 thermoformed paddles. This adds edge rigidity, enlarges the effective sweet spot, and absorbs off-center vibration so the paddle feels stable even on imperfect hits.

Face options start with raw carbon (T700 / 3K / 12K / 18K) for maximum grit and spin, with optional ceramic-sand or painted finishes. All units are thermoformed for consistent lamination between carbon skin and EPP core.

EVA Foam Perimeter Wall

Surrounds the hitting area with a resilient foam edge. Increases edge stability, enlarges the sweet spot, absorbs vibration, and eliminates the separate edge-guard glue line found on older paddles.

Mid-Density EPP Core (400–440 g)

Recyclable, high-strength expanded polypropylene with excellent long-term shape retention. Mid-density grade balances pop and control without the "boardy" feel of heavier foams.

Surface CNC Chevron Cutouts

A V-shaped surface pattern removes material in a controlled way, creating ribbed flex zones. The ribs compress on impact and spring back, giving the paddle a lively but predictable response.

Key Benefits

Why brands are testing the Chevron Core

Controlled Pop

Chevron ribs store and release energy directionally, giving a crisp rebound without the unpredictable trampoline effect of softer cores.

🎯

Larger Sweet Spot

EVA perimeter wall stabilizes the outer hitting zone so off-center shots stay accurate and lose less power.

↔️

Anti-Twist Stability

The continuous EVA edge frame resists lateral torque on hard volleys, making the paddle feel solid in hand.

🌿

Recyclable Core

EPP is a closed-cell, 100% recyclable foam. It resists permanent compression and keeps the paddle performing longer than standard PP cores.

🪶

Weight Optimized

CNC cutouts remove mass from non-critical zones while keeping structural ribs where stiffness matters.

🔄

Spin-Friendly Face

Raw carbon face or optional ceramic sand surface gives long-lasting texture for topspin and slice.

How It Works

What the chevron pattern actually does

Variable thickness core

The cutouts create thick ribs and thin windows, so the face flexes more in some zones and stays stiff in others.

Directional energy return

The V-ribs channel rebound toward the center line, helping the ball exit with a consistent launch angle.

Damping without mush

EPP absorbs high-frequency vibration while the EVA wall absorbs low-frequency shock—two materials doing what each does best.

Lightweight structure

Removing material via CNC keeps the paddle near the 225 g target without sacrificing face integrity.

Not just a cosmetic pattern. The chevron geometry changes how the face bends on impact. If your brand wants a paddle that "pops" cleanly but stays controllable, this structure is worth prototyping.

FAQ

Common questions about the Chevron Core paddle

What is the Chevron Core exactly?

It is an EPP foam core that has a V-shaped (chevron) pattern CNC-cut from the face surface. The ribs between cutouts act as engineered flex zones, giving the paddle a controlled, lively response while keeping weight down.

Is this the same as a solid EPP core?

No. A solid EPP core has uniform compression across the face. The Chevron Core removes material in a pattern, so different zones flex differently. The result is usually a more directional rebound and a crisper feel than a solid core of the same density.

What does the EVA perimeter wall do?

The EVA foam edge wall replaces the traditional glued-on edge guard. It stiffens the rim, enlarges the usable sweet spot, absorbs vibration on off-center hits, and removes the visible glue line found on older cold-pressed paddles.

Can I choose a different EPP density?

Yes. The standard reference grade is 400–440 g mid-density EPP, but we can tune the formulation up or down to meet your target swing weight, balance point, and feel preference. Tell us the performance profile you want and we will recommend a grade.

What face materials work with this core?

Raw carbon T700 is the most common choice. We also offer 3K, 12K, and 18K weaves, ceramic sand infused surfaces for extra spin durability, and painted/custom printed faces. All are laminated under heat and pressure for a strong bond to the EPP core.

What thickness and weight can you deliver?

Standard thickness is 14 mm or 16 mm. Target weight is ~225 g ±5 g before grip and end cap. If you need tighter consistency, our Precision Program targets ±2–3 g per production batch.

What is the MOQ and sample lead time?

MOQ is 200 pcs per design. Samples from an existing mold usually take 7–10 days. If you need a new chevron geometry or custom shape, add 5–7 days for CNC programming and mold preparation.

Is this structure USAP-compliant?

We build to USAP dimensional, surface roughness, and material standards. However, USAP approval must be applied for by the brand under its own brand name; the factory cannot hold USAP certification for a customer's product. We supply compliant samples and documentation to support your application.

Can you ship to Amazon FBA?

Yes. We can label cartons, apply FBA shipping marks, and deliver DDP to Amazon warehouses. Just provide your FBA shipment plan and labeling requirements when you place the order.
